Oxford Industrial Automation
UK robotics integrator

A robotics integrator for complete production cells.

Oxford Industrial Automation turns a production task into a working robot or cobot cell. We start with the product, rate, process and site, then engineer the robot, tooling, controls, vision, guarding and interfaces as one system.

Application first

Start with the production problem, not the robot brand.

A useful feasibility review starts with what the customer needs the cell to achieve. Product geometry, presentation, target output, changeovers, quality checks, operator interaction and available space all influence the architecture.

We use that information to compare industrial robots, collaborative robots, SCARA, parallel and palletising platforms, then define the complete cell around the most appropriate motion, payload and work envelope.

  • Product dimensions, mass, centre of gravity and surface condition
  • Current and target cycle time, including upstream and downstream constraints
  • Required orientation, approach angles and placement accuracy
  • Available footprint, access, utilities and maintenance clearances
  • Operator tasks, changeovers, cleaning and material replenishment
Complete scope

The robot is one component of the finished automation system.

Reliable automation depends on the engineering around the arm. The end effector must grip the real product reliably; controls must exchange the right signals with surrounding equipment; and the safety concept must suit the actual operating modes and foreseeable interventions.

Our project scope can combine robot selection, grippers, conveyors, product fixtures, guarding, safety devices, machine interfaces, PLC and HMI software, vision, installation, commissioning and operator training.

  • Robot and controller selection
  • Mechanical design and end-of-arm tooling
  • PLC, HMI, network and machine-interface engineering
  • Vision inspection, guidance and traceability interfaces
  • Risk assessment, safeguarding and conformity documentation
  • Factory testing, installation, commissioning and handover
Project path

A structured route from feasibility to production handover.

Early-stage work should reduce uncertainty before detailed engineering begins. We review the process, test difficult handling where appropriate and define the operating concept, expected interfaces and project assumptions.

The final solution is then engineered, built, programmed and tested as an integrated cell. Installation and commissioning confirm operation with the customer’s real products and production equipment.

  • Application review
  • Concept and budget definition
  • Detailed engineering
  • Build and software development
  • Factory acceptance testing
  • Installation, commissioning and training
Practical answers

Frequently asked questions

These answers provide an initial planning framework. Final requirements are confirmed against the product, process, site and applicable safety obligations.

What information should I send to a robotics integrator?

Send product dimensions and weights, photographs or video of the current process, required output, available footprint, product variants, upstream and downstream equipment, utilities and any known safety or environmental constraints.

Can an integrator automate existing machinery?

Often yes. The feasibility review must confirm physical access, machine signals, guarding, cycle timing, part presentation and responsibility for any modifications to the existing equipment.

Do I choose the robot before requesting a quotation?

No. Starting with the process usually produces a better solution. The integrator should select or compare platforms after the payload, reach, cycle, tooling, safety and interface requirements are understood.

Can you integrate industrial robots and cobots?

Yes. The appropriate architecture depends on the risk assessment, required speed, payload, reach, footprint and operator interaction. A cobot arm does not automatically make an application collaborative or guard-free.

Project review

Discuss the production task with an automation engineer.

Send the product details, required output, available space and a photo or short video of the current process. We will review the application and identify the next engineering step.
